Few clubhouses are as part of the golf experience as the one at The Barwon Heads Golf Club.

For over a century the The Barwon Heads Golf Clubhouse has greeted visitors to the course and formed a backdrop for the finishing hole, so close it seems to be in play. It embodies the characteristics of the quintessential clubhouse, appearing stately in its setting, affording exceptional views of the course, and warmly housing the camaraderie of members and guests.

In December 2025, The Weekend Australian listed The Barwon Heads Golf Club among the world’s ten finest golf destinations, placing it alongside revered names such as Pebble Beach, St Andrews, Royal County Down, Pinehurst, Cabot and Lofoten Links.

Entry to the Clubhouse is restricted to members and their guests, suitably attired green fee players, house guests staying at the Club and those registered to attend a meeting, event or function. The liquor licensing legislation requires that guests and green fee players be signed in as visitors in the visitor’s book. This is available immediately opposite the reception desk.

Accommodation

Travellers have been making use of the accommodation facilities within the iconic Barwon Heads Clubhouse since 1924.
There are 19 ensuite rooms available for those visiting Barwon Heads seeking a traditional, service-oriented experience.

For a guaranteed tee time on weekends, public holidays, in summer or during other peak periods, guests staying overnight in the Clubhouse enjoy priority access to prime-time tee times on most days of the year.

Dining

As a private club, the dining facilities in the Clubhouse are only open to members, their guests, house guests and those invited to attend specific events and functions.
After signing in as visitors, suitably attired green fee players are invited to lunch in the Links Room either before or after their round.

Meetings & Events

Meetings and events held at the Club are delivered with pride and style – and with accommodation available upstairs, packages can be designed with overnight stays that incorporate a round of golf prior to, or after, your successful event.
